Massimo de Mattia at the flute and Bruno Ceselli at the piano are outstanding musicians of the Italian Jazz Scene, which is still known too less, except by a few.
Melodic perception and the power of expression, as well as a distinct sense for sound structures are the specific components, which define the style of these two musicians even when they walk down the path of improvisation.
If their exceptional sense of structuring sound has something to do with a
specific "Italianita" remains unknown.
In any case, conscious and even more unconscious regional influences play a vital role in the otherwise wide ranging global art form of jazz.
Both musicians have established their popularity, especially as members of the
Mikiri Quartett with which they already could be heard in Zoglau.
